The very first She-Hulk trailer is here and it confirms the previously leaked August 17 release date for the Disney Plus series.
The trailer begins with some advice from veteran superhero Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), who we see as the Hulk – specifically his Professor Hulk persona introduced in Avengers: Endgame – for the first time since Shang-Chi and the legend of the Ten Rings. More importantly, we finally get our first look at Tatiana Maslany as titular attorney Jennifer Walters.
Walters is a reluctant superhero who just wants to be a normal, non-green lawyer, hang out and hang out with her friends, but she’s plagued with a familiar and terrifying problem: she turns into She-Hulk when she is angry or scared. Naturally, as the only other known human with experience with this sort of thing, his cousin Bruce Banner comes along at some point to show him the ropes.
In the comics, She-Hulk is part of the current Avengers superhero roster, but in the trailer she makes it pretty clear that she’s not interested in joining the ranks of the Hulk, Captain America, and Thor.
Nevertheless, there would be no TV series if she just walked away from this life and kept trying to suppress her anger to avoid awkward dinner parties. It’s unclear exactly what happens to change her mind, but it’s clear that at some point in the series, she’ll put her powers to good use against some villains.
