There is perhaps no less reliable source for sports rumors than radio hosts, who often throw things against the wall and then bleat for credit in the rare event something sticks.
In the same universe are TV personalities, who are no longer believable but only a little less annoying due to far less frequent rumors.
So load up on several grains of salt when you read that Kevin Harlan, TNT’s beloved play-by-play announcer, tried his hand at breaking news on Luka Doncic during an appearance on KNBR on Thursday.
“I heard he was sick today,” Harlan said on the Greg Papa and John Lund show. “I guess he was up most of the night and sick. …I’ve heard it now from two different people, so I guess it’s probably true.
“The body language he showed, just the zest he showed in Game 7 at Phoenix wasn’t there last night,” he said of Doncic after the Game 1 blowout of Warriors. “And I don’t know if he was maybe a little under the weather. He didn’t play like he played in the Suns series, that’s for sure, and they needed every ounce of that. he was giving them, and it was not apparent.”
Harlan went on to say that his “two different people” weren’t part of the Mavericks or Warriors organizations, immediately questioning everything. But that didn’t stop his comments from being picked up like wildfire – including by this website here now too.
In turbulent times like these, however, we can only really get reliable medical information from trusted sources like Dr. Skip Bayless. What Did The Fauci Of Fox Have To Say?
“It was more about Warrior-itis,” the Fox Sports Take Machine diagnosed.
“In the second half Steve Kerr just said, you know what, I’m going to let Wigg take it, just let Wigg take it on him,” he said of the lockdown defense by Andrew Wiggins. “…He’s also 6-7, he’s a bit longer than Luka, he’s very athletic, he’s explosive and looks like he can run all day and all night. …Luka started to look a little gassed to me. I never thought he was in great shape, he was out of shape, he always looks a little beefy to me.”
Thank you for your commitment to the truth, Dr. Bayless.
