Eminem Blasts Pete Davidson in ‘Forgot About Dre’ Video Parody – Billboard

Eminem is fed up with parodies of Pete Davidson rap clips.

In the Season 47 finale of saturday night live on May 21, Marshall Mathers made another memorable appearance in a musical sketch paying tribute to longtime producer Lorne Michaels. In the time-cut skit, titled “Forgot About Lorne,” Davidson raps about Lorne’s accomplishments to the beat of Dr. Dre’s 1999 hit “Forgot About Dre,” featuring Eminem.

In the parody setup, Davidson – who last appeared on SNL after eight seasons – is approached on set by host Natasha Lyonne, who tells him that Lorne is depressed because he always wanted to appear in a music video alongside the 28-year-old comedian.

“This guy literally did everything for me, so I’m going to reward him by making this rap video exactly the way he wrote it,” Davidson told Lyonne, holding up a crumpled script found in the trash.

The rap then the video begins with Davidson dressed as Michaels, surrounded by shelves of golden statues, and transitions to the comic disguised as himself, spitting lyrics on the SNL the creator’s influence in launching the careers of comedy greats such as John Belushi, Chris Farley, Dan Aykroyd and Will Ferrell.

“So what about a great comedian / I’ve been doing it myself for half a century straight,” Davidson raps, mimicking Eminem’s quick verse on “Forgot About Dre.” “I wanna talk about all the crazies he made / Every decade got ridiculous names.”

Davidson’s flow is interrupted by Eminem himself, who yells at King of Staten Island star of a nearby camera on set. Clearly annoyed, the superstar rapper then begins asking Davidson why he’s doing another hip-hop video parody.

“Is this another parody, is it like another homage or something?” Em asks, to which Davidson replies that it’s the third. (The SNL The star has previously starred in parodies of Eminem’s 2002 hit “Without Me” and his classic “Stan.”)

“I would just like to stop,” Em continues. “Yeah, they all suck… Please stop… This is really bad.” Davidson tries to explain that the parodies are meant to pay homage to Mathers’ music, but the rapper has none of it. “Pete, don’t do it again,” Eminem said, pointing his finger at Davidson.

The comedian then looks at a character playing Michaels and shouts, “You’ve ruined everything!”
