Khloé Kardashian promises there are “upsides” to her ex Tristan Thompson, but she’s aware his personal issues overshadow anything he offers.
The Good American co-founder opened up about her status with the Chicago Bulls player on Dear Media’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast on Tuesday and said they were cordial for the sake of their daughter, True.
“It’s sad because, like, there’s so many good sides to him too, but no one can see them because they’re all overshadowed by, like, the personal stuff that’s going on between him and me,” she explained.
Kardashian even went so far as to say that there are “lots of other people around the world who have gone through probably similar situations” to her.
“I doubt that I am the only human being. I hope not. Well, I don’t want anyone to go through that,” she said, alluding to the athlete’s multiple infidelities.
Kardashian, 37, gave him a general explanation of ‘everyone makes mistakes’ but admitted that while Thompson, 31, can be ‘a good person’, he is ‘not a good partner’ for she.
“I want everyone to still have a chance to be happy and have a great life,” the ‘Kardashians’ star shared. “So I never encourage anyone to just, like, jump on this bandwagon, but I also think people can have their own feelings and do whatever they want, but he’ll always be in my life because of True, and he’s a great dad, and that’s all I really need to focus on.
The former ‘Revenge Body’ star confessed that Thompson is still trying to reconcile with her, but she won’t take the bait because the ‘facts are the facts’ that he welcomed a child with Maralee Nichols, whose she found out about the existence via her sister Kim Kardashian.
“I learned about it each time through a sister. I find out with the rest of the world, which is the most offensive part,” she said of Thompson who previously cheated on her while pregnant with True, now 4, and later from Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods.
“It’s all screwed up, but can there be some respect?” Khloe added.
Thompson’s only comment on his paternity scandal and Nichols’ lawsuit came in January when he admitted on social media to fathering their son, Theo, after vehemently denying it in court papers.
Since then, he has reportedly “done nothing” for Theo while maintaining a very public bond with True and his 5-year-old son Prince, who he shares with his ex Jordan Craig.
