Amber Heard takes the helm again as civil lawsuit with Johnny Depp comes to an end

Actor Amber Heard returned to the stand on Thursday in the civil lawsuit relating to a defamation suit brought by her ex-husband Johnny Depp as one of the rebuttal witnesses called by his attorneys.

Depp is suing Heard in Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia for $50 million over a December 2018 op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post describing herself as “a public figure representing domestic violence.” His lawyers say he was defamed by the article even though he never mentioned his name. Heard is counter-suing for $100 million, claiming Depp’s attorney defamed her by calling her abuse allegations a hoax.

Heard said she was “harassed, humiliated, threatened every day” thanks to statements made by Depp and his attorney Adam Waldman about her.

“Just walking into this courtroom, sitting here in front of the world, having the worst times of my life and the things that I’ve been through was humbling to me. People want to kill me, and they tell me every day. People want to put my baby in the microwave, and they tell me,” she said.

Heard says she received death threats and was mocked for her testimony of the assault, which she described as “agonizing” and “painful”.

Depp has refuse he once punched Heard and said she was the aggressor in the relationship. heard has testified about more than a dozen separate instances of physical abuse she says she suffered at the hands of Depp.

Depp’s legal team closed their case earlier today after calling their own rebuttal witnesses, including Depp himself.

Depp testified on Wednesdaycalling Heard’s accusations “crazy”.

“Ridiculous, humiliating, ridiculous, painful, savage, incredibly brutal, cruel and all wrong,” Depp said when asked about her reaction to hearing Heard’s allegations when she testified earlier in the trial.

He and Heard each testified at length earlier in the trial.

Also on Wednesday, model Kate Moss, a former girlfriend of Depp, denied ever being pushed or assaulted by Depp during their relationship. Heard, in his testimony, had referenced Moss and a rumor that Depp pushed Moss down a flight of stairs when the two were dating in the 1990s.
