Update, Tuesday, May 31: Margaret Qualley confirmed her engagement to producer Jack Antonoff in keeping with modern tradition: an Instagram post with a visibly busy ring finger. As we all know, it doesn’t get much more official than an IG hard launch from your husband-to-be. “Oh I love him,” she captioned the post.

The original story follows:

Congratulations to the Minion man. Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley (Maid, stars at noon) are committed, according to People. This means that in addition to Lorde’s music, Clairo, her own band Bleachers and the Minions: The Rise of Gru soundtrack, Antonoff apparently also had time to produce a serious relationship. He and Qualley were first linked last summer when they were spotted kissing in New York in August. The pair then turned award shows such as the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Grammys into public parties. More recently, Qualley was seen wearing a diamond ring at the Cannes Film Festival last week. The couple has yet to comment on their engagement, so we don’t know any details about a wedding proposal or date. But with all the musical collaborations under Antonoff’s belt, one can’t help but wonder who might sing at the ceremony. There are plenty of options to choose from, but we can think of a few little yellow singers that would be the perfect soundtrack for a couple to say “I Gru” to.
