Marvel’s Confirmation Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessThe streaming release date comes weeks after Disney+’s German social media apparently confirmed its June 22 premiere. As previously mentioned, Disney stuck to the 45-day theatrical exclusive window that stemmed from the pandemic, keeping plenty of audiences at home and eager for new releases on their streaming platforms. The original leak reported from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was removed by the German Disney+ account shortly after it was initially posted, leading many to believe the streaming release date was genuine.

Although surpassing The Batman in ticket presales and receiving generally positive reviews, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness It turned out to be interesting to be a step back from the box office success of the previous MCU title. Spider-Man: No Coming Home, grossing only over $879 million over its reported budget of $200 million. While the likes of Patrick Stewart’s returning Charles Xavier and Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter and John Krasinski’s Mr. Fantastic would have seemingly drawn audiences in droves like the multi-versal returns of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, the more mixed reception reviews and word of mouth regarding the film’s pacing seem to have affected its overall box office returns. Only time will tell if Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness performs better on Disney+ than its fellow MCU chapters when it premieres on June 22.
