Drew McIntyre called up undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns for a match at Clash at the Castle, and The New Day’s unique gift brought a challenge to the Brawling Brutes.
The Brawling Brutes won. The New Day and Drew McIntyre
Claiming that last week’s Six-Man Tag Team Match loss was unfair as Drew McIntyre was a surprise opponent, the Brawling Brutes took on The New Day and McIntyre in a heated rematch. In the dying moments of the explosive competition, Sheamus and Ridge Holland neutralized The King of Claymore Country on the outside while Butch capitalized in chaotic fashion with a Bitter End on Xavier Woods to claim victory.
Jinder Mahal defeats. Humbert
Even after Jinder Mahal explicitly forbade his cohort from dancing at ringside, Shanky couldn’t help but feel the beat and make his moves. This time, however, the dance worked in The Modern Day Maharaja’s favor as it was Shanky’s bodacious boogie that distracted Humberto, allowing Mahal to pick up the win.
Natalya won the Six-Pack Challenge to earn the right to challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey
If not for some building staff, Aliyah might never have made it to this Six-Pack Challenge after Shotzi cruelly locked her in the locker room before the game as a reward for Aliyah making her the same thing last week.
As SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey looked on at ringside, Raquel Rodriguez put on an impressive display, easily defeating her opponents in Shotzi, Aliyah, Natalya, Shayna Baszler and Xia Li. Natalya, however, picked up the win after that Rodriguez dropped a vicious Tehana bomb on Shotzi.
After Natalya stood up, The Baddest Woman on the Planet faced her next challenger.
Madcap Moss made a fierce comeback and demanded a match with Happy Corbin
Happy Corbin won. Madcap Moss by disqualification
Madcap Moss made his return to Friday Night SmackDown after being shelved due to Happy Corbin’s dastardly attack and wasted no time in repaying his former friend. Moss went straight for a steel chair, hitting Corbin and getting himself disqualified. It took WWE officials to stop Moss from further injuring his opponent, forcing WWE official Adam Pearce to announce a no-holds-barred match between the two for WWE Hell in a Cell.
The Usos won. Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura will retain the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship
Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura were about to be able to call themselves WWE’s new undisputed tag team champions, without the diversions of The Master Strategist. After The King of Strong Style accidentally injured his leg on the merciless steel steps and was knocked out by a 2-on-1 Uso attack, The Original Bro was left to go it alone.
As Riddle looked strong, Roman Reigns’ music suddenly rang out in the arena, distracting Riddle and allowing The Usos to claim victory and retain the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. After the contest, it was revealed that Sami Zayn had manipulated the match by playing Reigns’ music from the production truck, leading to a fight between Riddle and the nefarious trio.
