Disneyland Paris has issued an apology after an overzealous employee interrupted what would have been a storybook marriage proposal inside the theme park.
Fans weren’t happy with the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ after a viral video showed the worker snatching a diamond ring box from a man’s hands while still on one knee posing the question.
The man, dressed in all white, is seen kneeling on a raised platform in front of a large crowd, who can be heard loudly applauding the couple. The woman, wearing a blue dress, covers her mouth in disbelief, overwhelmed with emotion.
Suddenly, a park employee with Mickey Mouse ears rushes onto the scene and snatches the ring from the man’s hands, then rushes down the stairs, urging the couple to come down. The bewildered couple look at the man before following him.
“She said ‘yes’,” the confused man told the employee.
“Yeah, that’s great,” the buzzkill worker replies, “but here it will be even better,” as he motions for the girl to get down.

The viral clip was originally posted by Redditor wasgehtlan, who said they knew the man in the video.
“POS destroyed my best friends moment (sic),” the user wrote in the post. “He asked permission beforehand.”
Other Reddit users criticized Disneyland for its handling of the situation.
“Their admission pass did not include the optional $149 ‘Photography Proposal’ fee,” one user joked.

“Trying to figure out if the dude was happier enforcing the rules or ruining [the] moment. He was legitimately happier to spoil the moment, ”wrote another.
Another said that ‘if a stranger ran up and snatched a diamond ring from my hand, more than that the moment would be ruined’.
Disney said the park apologized to the couple for the hiatus.
“We regret the manner in which this was handled,” a Disney spokesperson told Newsweek. “We apologized to the couple involved and offered to remedy the situation.”
