Halsey’s concert at Maryland Stadium was canceled Wednesday night after a tornado warning forced fans into bathrooms and extreme flooding inundated the venue.
Fans posted videos on social media from the Merriweather Pavilion in Colombia showing rats emerging from rising waters and trying to get on stage.
Screams can be heard in one clip as a person tries to chase a rodent from the scene and into a pool of water next to where she is standing.
“There’s no way this Halsey Maryland show is real,” Twitter user Amma mariee said.
The concert was initially delayed after heavy downpours left the pitch and stands covered in several inches of water.
At 10 p.m., the venue tweeted that the concert was canceled “due to technical difficulties related to weather conditions”.
A weather warning for tornadoes and flash floods had been issued in Colombia. And as thunderstorms swept through the venue, some frightened fans took refuge in the restrooms.
I really want to add that I’m more than disappointed with how the venue handled everything tonight and my rescheduled date will be somewhere else. I hear you loud and clear, I promise.

After the cancellation, Halsey tweeted that she was “beyond disappointed with how the venue handled everything tonight.”
“Right now I’m heartbroken and panicking and just want to know when/that you all get home safely. I love you more than anything,” the singer wrote.
She said the concert would be postponed and “take place somewhere else”.
Responding to a fan’s tweet, she said she wanted to perform “more than anything”.
“But I couldn’t because it would have been SO dangerous if I went out there and people rushed to the scene during or after the storm.
“A lot of things were out of my control tonight but I promise whatever I COULD choose, I chose your safety.”
Ticket holders are advised to seek information on a refund or rescheduled date.
