Elvis Presley does NOT happen in Austin ButlerThe portrayal of the deceased legend – that’s what TikTok says anyway… even if the king’s flesh and blood loves the performance.
The official “Elvis” page’s TikTok account posted a clip from the film – which is due out this month – and it shows AB as Elvis talking to another character behind the Hollywood sign… discussing how people wanted him. knock it down when it first splashed onto the stage.
Apparently the “Elvis” team was trying to do some sort of viral challenge, but instead… they got a lot of teasing – especially about how some perceive Austin’s appearance/voice.
You can take a look at some of the reviews yourself…it’s a tough crowd there. Some say he just doesn’t pass as an EP on the eyesight test, but just as many say his accent isn’t good – with some (jokingly?) arguing that a Vegas impersonator would have could have been better suited.
Yeah, we know…severe reviews for sure. But keep in mind, this is just a clip from the movie — and more importantly, from Elvis’ surviving relatives (including his widow, Priscilla Presley) have been singing Austin’s praises in recent months … saying he’s made it.
She recently said that Austin eliminated the role of the park, ditto for their daughter Lisa Marie – who said AB deserved an Oscar for this one. Same Riley Keough (Elvis’ granddaughter) was racking up the kudos…by posting a clip of BTS showing Austin singing Elvis tunes himself.
Waiting for your permission to load Instagram media.
So, it’s clear the Presley family co-signed this movie…and more importantly, Austin’s turn as Ol’ Snake Hips himself. And, at the end of the day, that’s probably all that matters.
In fact, we took Austin out to Los Angeles not too long ago and asked what it meant that the Presley family supported the project as fervently as they did… and even if he wasn’t as chatty with us as he was on the phone, he ended up saying it meant a lot to him.

“Elvis” hits theaters on June 24 to mostly positive reviews…but time will tell if audiences agree. So far, they seem a bit skeptical — huh, everyone’s critical, right?
