The couple, who got engaged in September 2021, first met in 2016 when Asghari co-starred with Spears in the video for her single, “Slumber Party.”
This is the singer’s third marriage.
“It was the most spectacular day,” Spears wrote. “I was so nervous all morning, but at 2:00 p.m. it really hit me…WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!!! I had a panic attack and then pulled myself together.”
She thanked those involved in planning her big day for turning her home “into literally a dream castle.”
“The ceremony was a dream and the party was even better,” she added.
Ahead of Thursday’s ceremony, Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander was arrested and charged with trespassing and assault after gaining unauthorized access to the wedding site, police say.
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies were called to the residence in response to a trespassing report, police say.
The trespassing suspect was later identified as Alexander, according to Sgt. Cyrus Zadeh with the county sheriff’s office.
Alexander was confronted by security when he entered the singer’s property, and an altercation ensued between him and two security guards, Zadeh told CNN. The two security guards were beaten in the physical struggle.
Alexander was arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespass, two misdemeanor counts of assault and one count of vandalism, Zadeh said.
