Dixie Carter reveals surprise Impact Originals teammate at Slammiversary

Impact honor was a matter of battle for Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley and Frankie Kazarian. They received a ten-man tag to beat some respect in the Honor No More quintet of Eddie Edwards, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Vincent and PCO. The Impact Originals team had two slots to find veterans who exemplified the spirit of the Impact. Nick Aldis was brought on board, but there was still a free seat heading to Slammiversary.

The time has come for the big news. Introducing the Impact Originals surprise partner… Dixie Carter!?! Dixie was there to thank the talent and staff of the past for the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Impact. She also revealed that the mystery man was Davey Richards.

The fight broke out into fistfights. The action was non-stop with a steady pace of teamwork throughout. Here is a sample.

Eventually, the American Wolves had a head-to-head showdown. Richards brutalized Edwards with a dragon screw through the ropes. Richards climbed the corner for a howl.

Richards missed the flying stomp, but he managed to trap Edwards in a leg submission. The ring filled with Impact submissions all around on Honor No More. The PCO managed to break the painful situation and save his teammates.

Over time, the match featured various cameos from former Impact stars. Sabin had the momentum to finish PCO with the Cradle Shock. Maria Kanellis distracted the PCO to break free. Traci Brooks watched from the front row in support of the Impact and her husband, Kaz. Brooks entered the fray to pull Maria down and flatten her with a clothesline on the floor.

The PCO grabbed Brooks by the hair. Kaz saved his wife and took down PCO with the Flux Capacitor.

Kenny King ran to help Honor No More. This brought out D’Lo Brown. He handled King with a Sky High spinebuster and a frog splash.

In all the chaos, referee Brian Hebner was knocked down. Earl Hebner had watched the game alongside Brooks. He removed his t-shirt to reveal a referee’s uniform. Earl took over as referee.

Motor City machine guns unloaded kicks to stun the PCO. Sabin took the opportunity to finish with a Cradle Shock. Shelley and Kaz took care of OGK, so Sabin could get the win.

This match was a lot of fun. Davey Richards was a satisfying revelation as a mystery partner. All of the wrestlers had their moments to shine, the action was super exciting throughout, and the surprise cameos were the icing on the cake.

What was your favorite moment from the fight between the Impact Originals and Honor No More? Were you satisfied with Davey Richards as a mystery partner?
