Jennifer Lopez introduces the child to the scene using neutral pronouns

Jennifer Lopez referred to her child using neutral pronouns before the duo at a concert this week.

The singer performed Thursday (June 16) in Los Angeles and hosted 14-year-old Emme Maribel Muñiz onstage at the LA Dodgers Foundation’s Blue Diamond Gala.

Lopez called Emme “my favorite duet partner”, telling the crowd: “The last time we played together was in a big stadium like this and I ask them to sing with me all the time, and they won’t. So it’s a very special occasion.

“They’re very, very busy and reserved and expensive,” she joked, adding, “They cost me when they come out. But they’re worth every penny because they’re my all-time favorite duet partner. So if you want to please me.

Hustlers The Lopez star uploaded footage of the performance, in which the couple sang Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” to her social media. Emme could be seen using a rainbow-colored microphone as she also sang parts of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” and Lopez’s “Let’s Get Loud.”

A video was shared on TikTok, fans of Lopez praising the singer for her touching speech before the duet.

“It was J-Lo who shared this information,” wrote a fan, adding, “It’s beautiful to see her supporting her child.”

Emme is Lopez’s youngest child and their father is Marc Anthony, whom Lopez divorced in 2014.

The concert was held to raise funds for education, health care, homelessness and social justice issues in Los Angeles.
