Beyonce haters can take multiple seats as long as Robin S is concerned…because Bey’s “Break My Soul” opens all sorts of doors for the ’90s hitmaker.
Beyonce’s first single from a studio album in 6 years samples Robin’s smash hit of 1993’s “Show Me Love” – and if your ear hasn’t picked up that, you’re in the minority.
Robin tells us that since “Break” was released on Tuesday, she’s been inundated with record labels, companies and artists…all looking to work with her.
Get ready to hear more of that ’90s dance vibe – Robin says his team’s phones are ringing non-stop with requests to license his lead “Show Me Love” recordings for various purposes.
She says the calls are coming from advertising agencies, record labels and top DJs … and her team is frantically trying to review offers as quickly as possible. So if you’ve ever doubted the Beyonce Effect is a reality, Robin can attest to that.
More importantly, though, she’s thrilled and grateful that Bey is giving her her flowers while she’s still around…an honor that many artists don’t get.
She says “Show Me Love” is her legacy, and having an artist of Queen B’s stature recognize and appreciate her music is one of the greatest compliments of all time.
Robin is already hugely popular – currently traveling across North America and Europe on a sold-out tour through August – but Bey is adding new revenue stream opportunities.
We’ll see where Beyonce’s song ranks high, but – for the record – Robin’s OG track reached No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
