Kevin BaconOwen Whistler tells campers his summer camp is a safe space for everyone in all-new Peacock Original Film teaser They they. But the cracks are already visible, and eerie images of ventriloquist puppets and a masked killer indicate that these campers won’t be having a good time after all.

They theypronounced “They-slash-Them”, is a slasher horror film set in an LGBTQIA+ conversion camp produced, written and directed by John Logan (“Penny Dreadful”).

In the film, “Several queer and trans campers join Whistler for a week of programming intended to ‘help them find a new sense of freedom.’ As camp methods become increasingly psychologically destabilizing, campers must work together to protect themselves.When a mysterious killer starts claiming victims, things get even more dangerous.

The slasher will debut on Peacock on friday august 5.

They they germinated in me all my life. As far back as I can remember I’ve loved horror movies, I think because monsters represent “the other” and as a gay kid I felt a powerful sense of kinship with these characters that were different, out of bounds, or out of bounds,” said writer and director, John Logan. . When people leave the movie, I hope they remember the incredible love these kids have for each other and how that love should be protected and celebrated.

The cast includes:

    • Kevin Bacon (he/she) plays Owen Whistler, the conversion camp director who runs the Whistler camp alongside several counselors, including his wife, Cora.
    • Anna Chlumsky (she plays Mollythe camp doctor and the new employee.
    • Carrie Preston (she plays Cora Whistlera licensed therapist in charge of the campers’ therapy sessions, and the wife of camp director Owen Whistler.
    • Theo Germaine (they they) rooms JoeDana transgender, non-binary camper of religious background who has made a deal with her parents to legally emancipate herself if dating Whistler doesn’t “work out”.
    • Quei Tann (she plays alexandraa transgender woman whose parents threatened to kick her out of the house if she didn’t attend camp.
    • austin crute (he/she) plays Tobya gay camper who negotiated with his parents a trip to New York in exchange for a week at Whistler Camp.
    • Monique Kim (she plays Speedwella bisexual camper who wants to stop fighting for who she really is.
    • Anna Lore (she plays Kima closeted lesbian camper who puts on a perfectly designed facade for her family and friends, assuming that when she fits in, she will finally be loved.
    • Cooper Koch (he/she) plays stua sportsman who yearns for a swimming scholarship and to join his father’s fraternity – things he doesn’t think he can achieve if he’s open about being gay.
    • Fabro’s Darwin (he/she) plays Gabriellea sensitive gay camper tired of the persistent name-calling and bullying he’s endured his entire life.

Scott Turner Schofield (Euphoria; The Craft: Legacy), Howie Young (Mission: Impossible III, Hit and Run), and Jon Romano (Firestarter (2022), Revenge) also serve as executive producers. Jason Blum (get out, The invisible Man) and Michael Aguilar (dreadful penny, To joke) are producers.
