Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, spent a lot of time (and money) fighting for his rights to his Montana ranch. He left his estate on June 1, as required by their divorce agreement, and now he has made permanent plans to make cattle ranching his full-time career.
Remember, he lost his last musical client, Blake Shelton, who allegedly fired him in solidarity with his compatriot Voice judge. Thus, Blackstock had to find a new line of work to pursue. He used Clarkson’s $17,750,000 ranch to start his business, but he will downsize to a more modest property. Blackstock bought a $1.8 million home in Butte, Montana in mid-April after their divorce was officially finalized, according to We Weekly, who obtained the deed transfer documents.

He didn’t just settle in the Western Region state, Blackstock did some business legwork – and it was divorce-related. The former music manager had to rename his company from Vintage Valley Ranch, which is the name of Clarkson’s Montana property, to V Bar V Cattle Co. Although the rulings signal the end of her marriage to the talk show host, the pair will still clash in court over their former business relationship. Starstruck Management Group, which is owned by Blackstock’s father, Narvel Blackstock, is suing the pop star for $1.4 million, claiming she still owes them commission for past work. Clarkson fights back because she believes her ex-husband and ex-stepfather were illegally operating the business in the state of California and wants their contract to be deemed null and void. So, while the former duo’s personal saga is over, it looks like another chapter in court will continue their contentious history.
