Tony Khan, Jay White, Jon Moxley, Kazuchika Okada, Claudio Castagnoli, Thunder Rosa and FTR spoke to the media after AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

Khan spoke about the success of Forbidden Door and said that over 100,000 pay-per-view buys worldwide would be considered a success, and that he felt confident based on the airplay numbers that the show was on the air. good way to reach this mark.
As for setting up the show, Khan said he was more proud of Forbidden Door than any show since Double or Nothing 2020 and praised NJPW as partners.

Khan said he reached out to Claudio on June 2 about the possibility of coming to work for AEW or making his ROH debut at their upcoming pay-per-view on July 23.
“It was June 2 that I called, and there was definitely mutual interest. But I wasn’t sure if he would come here, or [ROH] Death before dishonor, July 23,” Khan said.
“I asked him to come before I knew for sure that Bryan [Danielson] was out, but I had a pretty good idea [CM] The punk would have come out… We already had a lot of injuries, I didn’t know we would have more as the show approached,” Khan said.
Khan said he spoke to Danielson last weekend and Danielson said he didn’t feel 100% and mentioned Castagnoli as a potential replacement. White answered questions in person and spoke briefly about his professional accolades.
Moxley said he feels absolute joy in wrestling right now.
“That feeling, when you’re doing what you were put on earth to do, like the sheer joy of being connected and the thrill of wrestling…there’s no drug that can compare to that. What a feeling of righteousness. being there with Tanahashi,” Moxley said.
Okada appeared and spoke largely through translator Chris Charlton.
Okada said the crowds in Chicago were great and he hopes that as restrictions on crowds ease in Japan, the same kind of atmosphere will return there.
Okada said that there is no language barrier in professional wrestling, as long as he can say “Make it rain”, that the communication between wrestlers and the public is the language of professional wrestling.
Okada jokingly said that aside from Tony Khan, it’s up to the public to clamor who they want him to face in AEW.
Castagnoli said his familiarity with much of the AEW roster and the circumstances made it the right time for his AEW debut.
“Sometimes the stars align for the perfect moment, and that’s what happened tonight. I hope Bryan [Danielson] I’m fine, I know he’ll be back, but it’s perfect,” he said.
Asked about potential opponents, Castagnoli said he was happy to face anyone and everyone.
“I’m always looking for new challenges. Here at AEW, I’m like a kid in a candy store,” Claudio said.

Thunder Rosa appeared and made some comments about Jade Cargill. She also talked about her gear choices and how she chooses different gear or makeup based on different cosplay elements.
Rosa talked about the importance of having different looks so that a variety of action figures can be made for more revenue. Khan mentioned that he asked Rosa to wear green for the St. Patrick’s Day Slam episode of Dynamite.
She also talked about how Dustin Rhodes influenced her career, calling her his wrestling girl and letting her use some of his moves.
Both Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have spoken about their hopes of defending the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team titles in NJPW, which they’ve had their eyes on for a while, but now it seems to be a reality with the restrictions opening. of travel.
