Jake Paul accuses Tommy Fury of trying to pull out of fight after Fury refused entry to US

Jake Paul and Tommy Fury ran into another hurdle before their grudge match.

On Tuesday, Fury shared a video in which he claimed he was denied entry to the United States as he and his team tried to board a flight from London to New York. According to Fury, he doesn’t know why this complication arose and his team is working to resolve the issue so he can meet Paul for their scheduled August 6 boxing match at Madison Square Garden.

“My team and I arrived at Heathrow Airport this morning ready for the press conference, ready to fly, and as soon as we entered the airport I was pulled aside and Homeland Security m ‘said my ESTA (US Electronic System for Travel Authorization) was denied and I couldn’t travel to the US for some reason I apparently know,” Fury said. “I can stand here and say that I have done absolutely nothing wrong and I have no idea why I am not allowed to travel to the United States. I’d love to say I’ve been traveling for a fight this whole time and that’s all I’ve done. I have no idea why they wouldn’t allow me to travel today and neither would any of my team.

“So now I have to go to embassies and all that stuff to try to figure it out and I’m in deep training. I don’t know why this happened today, it’s a huge shock for me and my whole team. Obviously, this is a question that needs to be resolved. These are government issues. It’s a lot bigger than the fight right now and I’m just trying to work it out, but I just wanted to let you know where it’s at.

TMZ reports that the reason Fury was refused entry was his family’s alleged ties to alleged crime boss Daniel Kinahan.

Paul and Fury were previously scheduled for last December, but Fury pulled out due to injury and illness.

Reacting to news on social media, Paul accused Fury of trying to “get himself out” of the fight and wrote that his team had reached out to Fury’s folks to let them know how to fix the unspecified issue.

Tommy, no matter how hard you try to get out of this fight, I’m gonna 2 do everything in my power 2 not to let you snoop your way out. My team and partners have clearly outlined the steps to resolve your latest excuse. Take them or admit you’re a scared little female dog. #TommyFumbles

Paul’s promotion, Most Valuable Promotions, later announced that Wednesday’s press conference for the fight had been postponed.
