The James Webb Space Telescope to see the birth of stars in high definition

NASA’s newest deep-space observatory will soon turn its sights to a relatively nearby region teeming with young stars.

The James Webb Space Telescope has almost completed its commissioning and will release its first operational images on July 12. Next came an early science program, including an investigation of the Trapezium Cluster, a stellar nursery in the Orion Nebula some 1,350 light-years from Earth.
